From the initial R&D and shaft line calculations to the final installation, we provide a complete, single-source solution for any vessel. Our expertise in marine propulsion engineering ensures every component—from the propeller shaft and bearings to the seals and liners—works together seamlessly for optimal performance and the lowest total cost of ownership.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

SERVICE FOR OUR CLIENTS

The Bolero

The Bolero is a container vessel designed to deliver reliability, efficiency, and safety across international waters. The Bolero reflects Maprom’s commitment to strengthening supply chains while driving innovation in maritime logistics.

A 135-meter-inland container vessel with a fully enclosed system. With its water lubricated shaft system it’s without oil or grease, just environmentally friendly.

Maprom, for propulsion reliability.

Veerhaven

One of many Maprom success stories, the Veerhaven 5, a pushboat, built in 1981, now with over 255.000 hours with the same bearings and shaftliners, is a prime example of optimum design and prime execution to perform on lifecycle costs. This ship designed for pushing barges up and down the shallow and sandy Rhine river, went after many years in the Netherlands to Paraguay to sail of Paraná river, almost equally demanding. The Veerhaven features a triple shaft setup with each a Maprom closed system with both forward and aft seals, hardcoated NCB-shaftliner and demountable rubber stave bearings.

Bayamo

The Bayamo, a LPG tanker, with a shaftline system designed by Maprom. The single  9½” shaft system features a FWD and AFT seal combined with NCB shaftsleeves and rubber demountable stave bearings. During the recently ten year survey, the system was to be found in almost new condition, with a wear of only 0,15mm on the complete system. This positive outcome resulted in very happy customer.

The Maprom Advantage

A Fully Integrated System

Open Systems

Ideal for vessels in river and coastal waters, our open systems use the surrounding water for lubrication. Combined with durable, demountable bearings and hard-coated liners, they are engineered to withstand abrasive conditions while simplifying maintenance.

A‑Bracket Systems

Perfectly suited for tugboats and vessels operating in challenging river conditions, A-bracket configurations provide essential external bearing support. This design offers additional stability and robustness for the propeller shaft line.

Closed Systems

For ultimate reliability, our closed systems use forward and aft seals to create a sealed, controlled circuit. Combined with a water quality package, this ensures the shaft is lubricated with perfectly clean water, maximizing component lifetime and performance.

Custom Designs

Our engineering team ensures optimal performance through detailed design and analysis. We perform complete shaft line calculations, whirling analysis, and FEA simulations to guarantee perfect alignment, efficiency, and reliability for your specific vessel.

Why choose us?

Lowest total cost of ownership

Our water-lubricated systems and durable components are designed to reduce wear and simplify maintenance, minimizing downtime and operational expenses over the vessel’s lifetime.
